November 2017: West Point, Wreath Sale & Scouts-giving

November 2017

The real way to gain happiness is to give it to others. – Lord Baden Powell

We had a great month!

The theme for this month was ‘Sports’.  We were able to go to West Point to see a football game and camp out.  We had a lot of fun.  We also attended the air rifle competition at Ockanickon and sponsored by Washington’s Crossing Council.
The memorial at North Hunterdon High School (an Eagle Scout project) was dedicated.  Many local dignitaries and special guests were in attendance.  When you’re at North (by the circle near the gym) look to the left of the doors and you should see the memorial.
Throughout the month several Scouts moved up in rank while others worked on their rank achievements.  We welcomed a few Webelos to our meetings and two new members into our troop.
We also held our annual wreath sale at Immaculate Conception Church and delivered the wreaths Thanksgiving weekend and the first weekend of December.  Thanks to everyone who supported us, we appreciate it!
As is our tradition, we held a Thanksgiving dinner the Monday before Thanksgiving for our troop and family members.  The food was delicious (a special shout-out to the volunteers and to Shop Rite for their continued support) and everyone had a great time.
