June ’19: BBOBB

By Boot or By Boat – it doesn’t matter how you get there, you just HAVE to get there.

What is it? A Troop 200 tradition where we either hike in or boat/kayak/canoe into our campsite at Round Valley. It’s such a huge hit, we get a custom designed Class B, Troop 200 shirt to commemorate the weekend outing.

This is usually the last official Troop 200 camping trip of the school year. We’re lucky enough to have a few pontoon boats that our leaders bring – one has a grill where our lunch is cooked on Saturday…and we have to kayak out there to retrieve our hot dogs! It’s a lot of fun. In addition to boating, we go fishing, swimming and hiking. And, some take time to brush up on their outdoor skills.

The sunsets in June are amazing and at night we have a camp fire and sit around and tell stories and jokes. Click here to read a story from the Flemington Patch.
