April seemed to go by in the blink of an eye, probably because it was so jam-packed!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We held two Eagle Courts of Honor this month, recognizing Our 85th and 87th Eagles – Zach Nemeth<\/a> and Tyler Boyd<\/a>.\u00a0 And, we added one more Eagle to our ranks when Caleb Korson passed his Eagle Board of Review, becoming Troop 200’s 89th Eagle.\u00a0 For more information on all of our Eagles, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The theme for the month was “Military” and the Venomous Cobras were in charge.\u00a0 The Military Memorabilia meeting was held at Valley Crest and we saw some great pieces, heard some great stories and learned a lot about our family members and our Assistant Scoutmasters!\u00a0 Mr. Gibbons taught us about the history of uniforms and how they’ve changed over the years.\u00a0 John shared his dad’s yearbook from basic training.\u00a0 Cameron, Ethan, Owen, Zachariah and Ryan shared stories, photos, artifacts and uniforms from WWII.\u00a0 Phil shared a military hat from the USSR.\u00a0 We saw uniforms from Vietnam, a Civil-war era rifle and a project a WWII Seabee (Construction Battalion) made.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Throughout the month we invited guest speakers to share their knowledge and we worked on rank requirements.\u00a0 We have a few scouts ready for the Board of Reviews and the newest members of the troop are making a lot of progress!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>In mid-April we headed down to Sandy Hook where we hiked through a 300+ acre holly forest and saw trees that were over 150 years old.\u00a0 We also toured the Nike Air Missile facility and heard first-hand from retirees what it was like to work there during the Cold War.\u00a0 During our down time we hung out on the beach and practiced our outdoor cooking skills.\u00a0 We’re becoming experts at apple dump cake!\u00a0 The winds started picking up in the afternoon and it made for tough sleeping, but we made it!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>James attended the OA Ordeal Weekend and became our troop’s newest OA member (congrats again, James!).<\/p>\n
