We had a great summer. In June with had our last camp out of the year, our annual By Boot or By Boat trip. This year we kayaked, canoed, pontooned and SUPed over to our campsite, a few miles across Round Valley. Over the weekend we boated, swam, learned new skills and had a great time camping out. Many of us earned requirements for the Camping and Kayaking merit badges. A few of the highlights of this trip: the t-shirts, having to kayak over to our troop pontoon boat to get lunch (our boat has a grill on it!) and just hanging out with our friends. We are already planning BBOBB 2019!
During the summer several of our Scouts worked on and earned merit badges on their own. Aidan earned the Outdoor Cooking, Personal Fitness and Family Life merit badges and Owen earned the Gardening and Outdoor Survival merit badges. In late July, the troop headed off to Resica Falls where they spent a week camping, learning new skills and having a ton of fun. Scouts from each of our patrols were in attendance. The Scouts earned many different kinds of badges including: welding, metal work, fly fishing, electronics, photography, plumbing and fingerprinting. The troop also went on an afternoon canoe trip down the Delaware.
